"The Principals of War"

El Paso, Texas (TejaztlaN) – El Paso’s International Museum of Art is opening a new exhibit dedicated to the Mexican Revolution on April 14. Veteran artist/author/historian Bill Rakocy, working with long-time colleague Mario Parra, have created a major exhibit of four indoor murals chronicling the people, events, and themes of the Mexican Revolution of 1910. An opening reception is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2005.

The Mexican Revolution Room will be a permanent art gallery, and includes several display cases of artifacts related to the Revolution and that era, as well as a collection of photographs. Parra, one of Cuidad Juarez’s leading artisans, is completing a life-size sculpture of General Pancho Villa.

Rakocy call the murals “some of the best things I have ever done,” and has added to the exhibit many additional paintings of his related to the Revolution.
