Pato Machete - Contrabanda Now Has El Control
The followers of the late Mexican Hip-Hop group Control Machete now have a leader who will continue in Control of The Machete. Former emcee/vocalist of the group, Patricio Elizalde, better known thoughout Mexico and Latin America as "Pato" has announced the release of his first solo project. The The album is titled "Contrabanda" and consists of thirteen tracks in which the rapper / singer follows the same musical line that distinguished Control Machete as one of the best Latin Hip-Hip groups.
The album is produced by Jason Roberts, who not only produced the three Control Machete albums, but also holds production credits with Cypress Hill, House Of Pain, Funkdoobiest, and Plastilina Mosh among others. Pato Machete's Contrabanda album has its foundation deeply rooted in Hip-Hop and its culture, but also plays around with other sounds and rhythms, like Norteno, Cumbia, Blues, Rock and a wide range of musical mixtures that enriches the project giving it, it's own identity. As for the lyrics, Pato Machete brings the same type of message of a Control Machete record, it's a social thing, words and moments; more than a protest message. The message has always been more of a proposal of life type message...
For now, Pato Machete will be in Mexico City preforming in various venues, presenting the album and promoting the first single titled "Rancho". Both the single and the music video are bring distributed in Mexico first via EMI. The music video features many Spanish Rock and Hip-Hop friends, including Sekreto and Serko Fuentes of Caballeros del Plan G who is also the lead emcee in Sonidero Nacional.
