I was in the Mission District in San Francisco for Tribus Vivas Dermafilia's Tattoo and Graffiti Art Show (June 27th, 2009) this past weekend. It was their most successful event to date! I just wanted to thank Wilson and Kyana Pozada for inviting me as one of their guest artist and to thank everyone that supported Sekreto and I. Tribus Vivas Dermafilia is about providing a place where artist of all backgrounds can showcase their work. A place where local artist can perform and sell there handmade goods and artistic services. We carry local designers from the bay area that specialize in making one of kind clothing and wearable art. We do custom clothing designs as well as custom stencils. Come and see our unique selection of one of a kind altered, handmade clothing, accessories and art.

One thing that distinguishes us from other shops is that we have created a diverse environment where we focus on practicing and recycling knowledge through creativity. Keeping our roots and traditions alive through a fuzion of art , body adornment , Tattooing , Latino culture and the DIY way of life. All of the Tattoo artists at - Dermafilia have extensive artistic backgrounds, which is essential in creating custom artwork that is as unique as the client getting the tattoo.

Our piercer uses the highest standards in cleanliness, sterile equipment and quality of service. We also offer traditional and non- traditional Henna designs. We are open 7 days a week 12-7 pm. Original from Hull Massachusetts, a small town outside of Boston Ma. Kyana moved to the Bay Area five days after her 21stbirthday. Haven taken a cross country trip with one of her girlfriends, she fell in love with the culture and art of San Francisco. Kyana (AKA K-Tuff ) grew up in a very artistic home. Her mother was an artist and often held art days at the house so her kids could expand their artistic horizons . Kyana started off painting, drawing and making jewelry at a young age. She soon moved on to clothing, finding it was killing two birds with one stone by allowing her to transform paintings and drawings into a walking piece of art. Recycled Fashion from the flip side is how Kyana explains her clothing line. Finding life in the old and bringing it back to the new. Kyana styles her clothing with her custom stencils and art. She designs both womens and mens clothing and accessories as well as stickers, custom stencils and dog clothes. Kyana can be found at Tribus Vivas- Dermafilia in the Mission District of San Francisco. A Tattoo,piercing and DIY clothing shop she and her husband Wilson opened together in 2007. So if your feeling like you have nothing to wear, bring your closet to K-Tuff and give your clothes a second life.

Wilson Pozada::

Wilson Pozada started body piercing in Mexico City in 1993. Influenced by punk music most of Pozada's clients where the kids from the scene. Traveling to different cities and states to attend punk rock festivals and cultural art shows, Pozada would fund his trips by piercing people along the way. Becoming more emerged in the scene, Pozada noticed a lack of surgical steel jewelery in Mexico City. He became one of the first piercers to whole sale surgical steel jewelry in Mexico City. In 1994 he landed a job as a body piercer at the oldest most recognized tattoo shop in Mexico City ,D.F. Dermafilia . 14 years later he is now co -owner of Tribus Vivas Dermfilia with his wife Kyana , a Tattoo – piercing and DIY art and clothing shop in the Mission district of San Francisco, Ca. Wilson, the main piercer at Dermafilia SF is also tattooing with Dermafilia artist: ,Paul, Lukas & tiffany. He takes pride in the history and art of body piercing. Wilson wants to make sure that each client that gets pierced or tattooed walks out more knowledgeable about the art form when they leave. Being a Piercer or Tattooer, we want to make sure we do our best each time. It's like having a kid Wilson says. You have to be responsible about your piercing and tattoos for it to heal happy and healthy.
